Apple reports $36B in revenue, sells 27M iPhones, 14M iPads
Apple’s fiscal fourth quarter figures:
- 26.9 million iPhones in the quarter, up 58 percent from the same quarter a year ago.
- 14 million iPads, an increase of 26 percent.
- 4.9 million Macs, barely above the same quarter a year ago, just a 1 percent unit increase.
- 5.3 million iPods, which is a 19 percent unit in the last year.

China's Yihaodian Plans 1,000 Virtual AR Supermarkets Where You'll Shop With Your Smartphone's Camera
China’s biggest food e-commerce site, Yihaodian, announced plans to form 1,000 virtual supermarkets at locations across the country. These stores, to be called “Unlimited Yihaodian” will actually just be blank city spaces where Augmented Reality (AR) technology and your smartphone’s camera bring the store to life. So, yes, no actual physical products. The items that are bought will then be delivered – just like with Yihaodian’s regular website.

Mobile Devices Now Make Up About 20 Percent of U.S. Web Traffic
Mobile Web browsing continues to take off, with smartphones and tablets accounting for 20 percent of Web traffic in the U.S. and Canada, according to a new report.
The analysis finds that those stodgy old PCs still produce just under 80 percent of Web traffic, with smartphones accounting for 14.6 percent and tablets making up 5.6 percent.

Poster Shopping - the face of retail is changing
One more experiment with virtual stores in public spaces. This time at Stockholm Central Station, Swedish e-commerce platform provider Jetshop set up a 130 square meter concept superstore which featured twenty individual departments with a selection of products from a supermarket chain, a fashion retailer and a camping equipment specialist.
