Introducing the Chromebook: Nothing but the web

Google is just announcing:

"Today, we’re announcing the first Chromebooks from our partners, Samsung and Acer. These are not typical notebooks. With a Chromebook you won’t wait minutes for your computer to boot and browser to start. You’ll be reading your email in seconds. Thanks to automatic updates the software on your Chromebook will get faster over time. Your apps, games, photos, music, movies and documents will be accessible wherever you are and you won't need to worry about losing your computer or forgetting to back up files. Chromebooks will last a day of use on a single charge, so you don’t need to carry a power cord everywhere. And with optional 3G, just like your phone, you’ll have the web when you need it. "

Computer gamers less likely to go to university

"Frequently playing computer games appears to reduce a teenager's chances of going to university, while reading enhances the likelihood that they will go on to study for a degree, according to Oxford University research that tracked 17,000 people born in 1970.

Reading was also linked to careers success, as the research finds 16-year-olds who read books at least once a month were significantly more likely to be in a professional or managerial job at 33 than those who didn't read books at all."

Like it or not. What is the 'Plus One' relevance?

If we have Facebook Like buttons, we may also would like to tag as Plus One, some of our web experiences. Do we?? Definitely, yes!

Google announced a new social feature to its search service, adding a button to allow users to recommend sites and share those recommendations with their friends.

"It’s called +1 — the digital shorthand for “this is pretty cool.” To recommend something, all you have to do is click +1 on a webpage or ad you find useful. These +1’s will then start appearing in Google’s search results."

Let's play this new game. The world wide web is getting more and more social and a single click will be no trouble for anybody. Will it be relevant? let's click and see.
